Weapon Fight

"Great!"

submission: Weapon Fight
date: January 2, 2008

It's the typical stickman showdown, except with a good choice of music, excellent special effects, and fast-paced action! Loved it, for a short!

Light Effect Tutorial

"Eh."

date: September 2, 2007

Nothing really redeeming other than it's educational and the interesting variant on the Newgrounds preloader. Sorry. Possibly, add some music, throw in a few more tutorials, and make the tutorial format a bit tidier.

But hey, it was just to help a friend, so... eh.

September 2, 2007

Author's Response:

I don't intend on adding music really. It just increases the file size. And hey, why don't you play your own music while watching it? Then no one will complain that "the music you put with your flash was crap", you know what I mean? I suppose I could add a few more, but I'm one of those lazy artists. And I must agree, the format was quite messy, but yes, it was originally to help a friend and now to help Flash artists. Thanks for your review.

Cat Wars

"A great start!"

submission: Cat Wars
date: September 2, 2007

It looks like you've REALLY got potential! This is by far the best work I've seen from a novice in Macromedia Flash. Another prominent quality is that you can really capture the essence of a drama/fight scene.

A few things to work on: maybe some voice talent, fix the grammar for easier reading, and faster-paced action wouldn't hurt.

For this, I vote 4/5 and I'm recommending it for the Cats collection. I hope to see more. =)

Roadside Philosophy

"PHIL-osophy?"

date: May 8, 2007

Graphics: It had good detail: shading and bothering to create something that's not semblent to a crappily-done stickman movie. Phil and Bill, however, seemed kinda out-of-proportion to me.

Style: I found it awkward how often symbol reuse was employed: I mean, Phil's body was mostly the same symbol. I just can't imagine someone losing his sanity with his hands in his pocket.

Sound: Good voicing, but style of music selection was too common for my tastes.

Interactivity: Scene select and Play buttons are good. :)

Humor: VERY humorous. VERY.

Personally, I believe that fate and free will are independent. I believe in determinism. Determinism is that SCIENCE controls everything we do. Free will is our brain deciding what to do with our puny mortal bodies. I don't believe in religious fate, however.

Love the squirrel. Keep it up. PHIL GETS PHIL-OSOPHICAL!

Ekkosangen

"Stylish, and how."

submission: Ekkosangen

The first thing is that I really really really really really did I mention really... liked your new animation style, it's so smooth.

When I first saw this animation, I instantly realized the characters and graphics style, but I was surprised by the cataclysmical change of animation style: for a moment I started doubting it really WAS you who animated it. (Really)

Judging from your previous animations, it seems that your FBF skills have dramatically improved. (Well, you used to have more tween-intensive animations.) It must've been a lot of effort to maintain such smooth FBF through the whole animation, and I'd say your efforts were worth it. Keep it up!

However, I'll miss your old style. Will you somehow intertwine both FBF and tweens equally in your next animation? That'll rock.

Graphics: Cartoony, but it fits the song.

Style: I just told you; ROCKS OUT SO LOUD!

Sound: Minor looping problem, but extremely good choice and it IS catchy. VERY catchy.

Violence: Eyeshot, spontaneous combustion, a guy tripping over.
Interactivity: Lil' PLAY button.

Humor: Most of the animation was hilarious, and those parts were absolute 'LOL'. My favourite scene was with the slot machine, runner ups being some furries jumping off a cliff and the decapitation.

Oh yeah, good idea of looping it. Now, I can just STARE at your animation for hours without having to hit replay or anything. It was also a novel idea to loop not completely, but to a certain point.

I really hope to see more of your awesome work!

LW - Halloween 2006

"[Insert witty title here]"

date: October 28, 2006

Why is this scoring such a low score? This flash was GREAT.
Anyway, I'm giving you 5/5 and 8/10.

Graphics: It's okay, although some line differentiating could make it better.

Style: A little bit too much tweening for my tastes, and the shrinking chainsaw seems a little bit lazy.

Sound: The music pieces overlap each other, causing a few seconds of acoustic madness, and someimes causing a few seconds of silence. And even when soft, the voicing is clear. (However, I have hyperacusis) I even managed to make out some of the senseless rambling.

Also, good choices of music.

Violence: Even there was no graphic violence, sound effects and imagery makes for very vivid gory pictures in my head.

Humor: It's very funny. A sadistic funny.

P.S: It's SEVEN years bad luck, not 13.

Author's Response:

7 years?!? For real?!? ... Huh... Who would've thought it? You just HAD to mention the chainsaw... It was either that or it came out of nowhere... :D They overlap? I thought that only happened on replay!!! Cursed replay...

Game of Disorientation

"Disorientating, Alright."

date: October 6, 2006

It's an AWESOME game!

I'm anticipating the day you make a sequel to to popular demand! I really wish there were more levels, though.

It's so amazing... you deserved being the number #1 FLash on this site.

Halloween Heroes

"Eh."

submission: Halloween Heroes
date: October 6, 2006

It could've been longer, or with voice acting, or better frame rate, or some bloody violence...

But the idea is pretty funny, that you're mocking ghosts on halloween.

One thing I'm confused about... Who are the Halloween heroes? The ghosts, or the people in costumes?

Otherwise, it's good. 6/10

Author's Response:

Thanks! Yeah, this (i can admit) was just my cash in way of getting onto the newgrounds halloween list! I saw some others and they are short, so i made this in a few hours. The heroes are the ghosts and i hope on halloween you don't dress up as a ghost... otherwise they'll batter (and record you with mobile phone video) you with a metal ghost pole!

De la Terre a la Lune

"What else can I say other than "Awesome"?"

date: August 18, 2006

You amaze me. This was the best flash I've ever seen! (No really, Brackenwood gets kinda overrated when its huge fanbase votes it up, and brings everthing else down) Too bad you posted this on Clock Day. That's probably why nobody got Daily awards that day. (Well, you'll definitely get the Weekly Award and Best of August)

Graphics: Well done hand drawn graphics- Awesome.

Style: A good mix of tweening and FBF-Awesome.

Sound: Great quality sound, properly synchronized, it 'sounds' powerful and energetic, and perfectly suits the cartoon- Awesome.

Violence: You crushed a dog- Awesome.

Interactivity: You have a 'play' button- however, you had a 'replay' button that wasn't of any use as the movie looped before anyone could click that button. (It does work, though)

Humor: The newspaper article, blueprints, and that green sheet of paper were pretty funny if you slowed down to take a good look at them. But what I found most funny was that split second 'What th-" look at the alien's faces.

Congratulations on the getting into the Top 50!

It's Raining It's Boring

"Poor amish guy."

date: August 15, 2006

If there's a power outage, how did the fan and lights work? ALso, that NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and DUN DUN DUN things were kinda cliche for my taste. Then again, I'm kinda hypocritical here. I had the DUN DUN DUN thing in my own animation. And great cartoon by the way.

-Graphics: It's cartoony- simple, but definitely suits the cartoon. you could use a little line thickness variation, though.

-Style: Cartoony style. See above. And yay for weird looking hands. And the deliberate n00b style for the guy's dog cartoon.

-Sound: Clear, good quality, but it wasn't syncronized properly.

-Violence: WHAT'S DID THE AMISH AND THE WINDOWS EVER DO TO YOU!?

-Interactivity: None. At all.

-Humor: Amish headshots are funny, and taking the literal translation form the Windows logo (and using a picture of a real window)
